I have enough money to pay my rent, loan EMIs and other expenses each month, comfortably

	I always have enough money to get through the important expenses, no matter what.
	I usually have enough money for my important expenses, though the odd time I need to dip into my savings or borrow from friends or family. But I always pay them back!
	Yeah, sometimes. And when I don't, there are always friends and family to help me.
	Are you kidding? With the kind of expenses and lifestyle I have, how do you expect me to have enough left over to pay my loan EMIs?

All my financial records are efficiently organized and I can find whatever I want in a jiffy

	Organization is my middle name! Ask me how much my credit card dues were seven years ago, and I can pull it out for you in less than 30 seconds
	Umm, well yeah. Most of the time at least. Although I tend to lapse into periods of laziness where the records all stack up, until I sit and file them one day.
	It depends. Sometimes they are, most times not. I mean, the important stuff like tax papers I file. But not other things like bank and card statements.
	Yes. All organized neatly in my trash can. That's where all my bank statements go. Sheesh, who stores that kind of stuff, man?

I have written down my financial goals with a definite time to achieve them (e.g. Rs. 45 Lakhs for a home in 2015)

	Of course! Without a goal that's set in stone, we're all doomed to oblivion.
	You're joking right? I mean, what use is writing a goal four years hence when nobody knows what's going to happen tomorrow? Live a little, I say!

I plan my spends and savings each month strictly according to a written down budget

	Always. There is rarely an unplanned expense.
	Most of the times, though I do give into the odd urge to splurge on unplanned expenses.
	Well, I focus on enjoying the best of what life has to offer. And sometimes, it is good to plan. But as a rule, I don't.
	Planned spends? That's for nerds! I believe in taking life as it comes!

I know how much I am worth at any given time

	Always. Always. Always. That one fact is what drives me and that is the only number I track day in and day out.
	Well, mostly I do. Though I never obsess about how well I am doing. But it's good to know.
	Yeah. At those times when I'm meeting up old pals or going to a reunion.
	Never. Money is but a fleeting thing. There is so much more to life than counting money!

I regularly set aside a sum each month for my long-term financial goals

	Always. This is the first chunk of my salary. I make sure I'm lining the nest egg month after month so I am well taken care of in my golden years.
	I manage to do that most of the times. Although, I do tend to give in to the odd indulgence of buying some jewellery or that latest gizmo.
	Sometimes, when I'm feeling particularly virtuous. Other times, I end up focusing on the present.
	Never. "Take care of the present, and the future will take care of itself" is an adage I firmly believe in and live by.

My bank account currently has at least six months' take home pay as liquid cash

	Yes it does, at any point in time. When it comes to liquid cash, I tend to err on the safer side. After all, there's no way of knowing when you might get laid off, right?
	Well, not six months, but yeah - I do tend to have a decent amount of liquid cash in case of an emergency.
	Mostly I don't, but there are times when I build up enough liquid cash to take me through two or three months in case I lose my job.
	Six months' take home pay? You're joking, right? Money lying idle in the bank is money wasted! I don't keep more than one month's take home pay as liquid cash.

When I get an increment, I end up saving more

	In fact, I take most of the increased take-home pay and put it into investments or savings. My lifestyle is pretty good with my current, lower salary.
	I put most of the money into savings but allow me and my family a little indulgence here and there. Like a vacation, perhaps. Or that big LCD TV.
	Well, I do manage to do that some of the time. When I find I have enough money left over after buying new clothes, new jewellery, loan payments on a new car and stuff.
	What? Save more? And take all the fun out of life? Wake up, man! An increment goes into paying for the next big car!

I pay my credit card bills in full and avoid any interest payments

	Absolutely. In fact, my bank must curse me because I am such an unprofitable customer for them!
	Yes I do. Most of the times anyway. Though, there has been an odd instance of me rolling credit.
	I do, sometimes. Most of the times, though, I am happy to pay only a little more than the minimum amount. Or more, when I have the money.
	No way. I mean, what good is a credit card if you don't make full use of it? I only pay my minimum amount due.

My loans and credit card payments take up a chunk of my monthly take-home pay

	20% or less
	20-35%
	35-50%
	More than 50%

I have written down my will

	In fact, that's the first thing I did the minute I started building wealth. I want to make sure that everything I own goes to my rightful heirs.
	Will? What, are you crrazy, man? That stuff is for old and rich people. I have a full life to live ahead. And besides, I don't own that much wealth anyway.

You understand the basics of managing money and follow them most of the time. Sure, you give into the odd indulgence but then we're all human, right? Money Newbie! You understand the importance of planning, you just don't do it that well. You need discipline in following the plan and the riches will follow. Money Disaster! You need to seriously begin rethinking your life's financial goals. You can't continue living for today and keep hoping for a prosperous tomorrow.
